Maya Angelou was true to her words when she said, “I’ve learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life.” I believe, school is a ‘miniature society’ where one receives training for life and also where effective, meaningful and joyful learning takes place. It is here, we begin to learn our lessons of life- to accept challenges, face competition, defeat and failure and even rejoice at both ultimately preparing students to be processed in the laboratory of life.
Children acquire skills and knowledge easily if we can make the surrounding stimulating and purposeful. The Digital Revolution has changed changing everything: a brilliant barrage of information, entertainment, companionship and education is speedily available. In such a surrounding when work and effort is valued, the child’s self-esteem is heightened, and from this results self motivation.
Every child is an institution in itself, unique, invaluable and undeniably a ‘reservoir of immense possibilities’. It is like malleable clay, a divine gift, entrusted to us to shape and nurture. It therefore, becomes our profound responsibility to guide, chisel and refine these young minds, helping them discover their true potential and purpose. We try to understand, work and experiment with each child in their best interest as it is our responsibility to enable the child and develop as a whole.
